Gone are the slow downloads of yesterday...
My, how things have changed. Just about everyone has a computer these days. And not just a computer - high speed internet access is more than commonplace. I can remember when I first connected to the net - with dial up modem access. S-L_O_W_!! I would click on a page, go make a pot of coffee, throw in a load of laundry, cruise by the computer to see how the page download was coming along, go make the bed and come back - and Wallah! Finally there was the page I requested - oh! I hate to remember how many times it was the wrong page! So much wasted time - waiting for those downloads. It certainly wasn't 'cruising' the internet - it was plodding. Now I do 'cruise' the net with FIOS (fiber optic cable) - but I still hate having to wait even a few seconds for a page to load - it's certianly not long enough to start coffee or a load of laundry, but it is long enough to play one of these 4 second games:
This new collection of 20 randomly generated Flash microgames may be just what you need to fill your next few seconds of spare time. Avoid being stomped on, eaten by sharks, stung by bees, or losing to the computer at Pong. You have only 4 seconds on the clock for each task. That doesn't sound like a lot, but it's surprisingly lively.
Four-Second Fury is the newest creation from a 19-year-old college sophomore named John Cooney. According to his site, jmtb02.com, this prodigy has been doing interactive art, games, and web animations since high school and posting them on the Web, free for all to use. Play the game.
